Beer and Steak Spice Mussels
A few years ago we had the best mussels in Prince Edward Island after a golf game. Most of the golf courses served free mussels. The only thing better than free mussels is free GOOD mussels. And these ones were so good, we actually asked how they made them. Expecting a lengthy description, we were surprised to find out they were made with 2 ingredients. Beer and steak spice. No kidding. So we made Beer and Steak Spice Mussels at home and they were just as good as in PEI.
Shrimp Dip
Always popular at parties, Shrimp Dip can be made up quickly and easily. It’s delicious spread on crackers or served with raw vegetables.
Hot Pepper Jelly

Sauerkraut Balls
Sauerkraut Balls are a popular appetizer down here at the lake. They freeze well so they’re easy to pull out for a fish fry or happy hour. Most people deep fry them but they bake well too. I know, they sound a little weird but you’ll be surprised how good they are. Serve them with a little honey mustard dipping sauce and it’s like you’re having a sausage on a bun in one bite.
